The Department of Sports and Recreation offers welfare and sports skills services to the students through a comprehensive, dynamic and exciting Inter-Hall Sports Championships scheduled to take place during the First Semester of the each academic year. Mak hosts 2018 Women University Netball Championship
FISU, the International University Sports Federation coordinates the activities of over 100 national university sport federations and holds world university championships in the most popular university sports. The 2018 edition was held at Makerere University, where it staged 34 WUCs, attracting approx. 6,500 participants from 105 countries.
